Mudgee is nowhere near as well known or as well
patronised as its cousin the Hunter Valley, mainly due to
its location (at 3 - 4 hours drive north-west of Sydney its
not quite as accessible).
Yet Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine magazine
(in its June/July 04 edition) confirmed what we already knew
"
the inland location of Mudgee provides it with
a basic weather pattern of cool nights followed by long hours
of sunshine. Its cooler than the Hunter Valley, but
appreciably drier, and receives more annual hours of sunlight.
Acid retention, colour and flavour build-up are the natural
result a seriously exciting combination"
To find out what theyre talking about,
you could visit Mudgee
you can also host a Wine Plus
Wine Tasting Party, Corporate Event, or Fundraiser.
Mudgee is a wonderful town, well worth a visit.
Mudgee is an Aboriginal term meaning "Nest in the Hills",
which describes the large undulating valley ringed by ancient,
extinct volcanoes that is now home to the town. There is plenty
to see and do in the region, including 35 Cellar Doors to
explore. But Mudgee still retains a country charm that sets
it apart from some of the larger wine producing regions.
You cant help but unwind on a visit to
Mudgee
its a great way to escape the city while
still being able to get a great coffee!

One of our favourite places to stay in Mudgee is Mudgee Homestead Guesthouse. In fact, we chose this beautiful location as our 'bridal suite' for our recent wedding, and held a fabulous pre-wedding party in the wonderful entertainment room downstairs. Karen and Sean are amazing hosts!
